Parker Wright pitched six effective innings Wednesday as Southside defeated Jefferson City, 5-2, at the Union City Tournament.

Five different Mavericks drove in runs, including Kinner Brasher who had two hits. Brock Thibodeaux, Jack Melton, Nick Martin and Hauken Smith also drove in runs.

Smith doubled home Phillips as part of a two-run third, extending the Mavericks' lead to 5-0.
